about rush sailing club

Who are we?

Rush Sailing Club is a thriving community of sailors and water sports enthusiasts located on the picturesque Rogerstown Estuary. Founded over six decades ago by a group of local enthusiasts who built their own boats and launched them off the beach, the club has since grown to become one of the most respected sailing clubs in the region.

At Rush Sailing Club, we take our sport seriously, but we also know how to have fun. Whether you're a seasoned sailor or a beginner just starting out, you'll find a warm welcome and a strong sense of community at our club. With our superb facilities and expert coaching staff, you'll have everything you need to take your sailing to the next level.

From our state-of-the-art clubhouse to our well-maintained fleet of boats, Rush Sailing Club has everything you need to enjoy the thrill of the open water. Our members come from all walks of life, but we're united by our love of sailing and our commitment to our community. Whether we're out on the water, cheering on our fellow sailors at a regatta, or volunteering our time to help maintain our facilities, we take pride in everything we do.

But Rush Sailing Club isn't just about sailing - it's also about building lasting friendships and connections. Whether you're looking for a social outlet or a chance to hone your skills on the water, you'll find plenty of opportunities to get involved at our club. From our regular social events to our popular training programs, there's always something happening at Rush Sailing Club.

So if you're looking for a fun, friendly, and supportive community of sailors and water sports enthusiasts, look no further than Rush Sailing Club. With our passionate volunteers, superb facilities, and strong sense of community, we're the perfect place to call home for anyone who loves the thrill of the open water. Come join us today and discover everything that Rush Sailing Club has to offer.

ABOUT OUR FACILITIES

Our Club House

The club house is a great spot to hang out, equipped with everything you need! There are changing rooms and showers (including a wheelchair accessible one), a bar, a meeting room, an office, and even a snooker room. If you need to use the accessible shower or toilet at any time, just head around to the back door and use your key fob or pass code (which you can get from the bar after paying a deposit). The bar is open Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday nights, please check the website (www.rushsc.ie) for more info. Oh, and don't forget that members get discounted prices on drinks with their membership card! And if you're looking for something to do while you're at the club house, try a game of pool, or head on up to the first floor and check out the full-sized snooker table. The Rush Snooker team is usually there most evenings if you want to join in a game or two!

new to sailing

Are you a complete beginner?

We have a variety of club dinghies for training, and run regular courses for beginners in the summer, so there is no need to buy your own boat to get started. We also have a ‘Just Sailing’ programme for those who are not fixated on racing!

fun for all ages

Want your children to try sailing?

We have a thriving junior section, which runs training courses, including ten-week courses on two weekday evenings every spring. At least one parent/guardian of a participating child is required to join the Club as a member. We also host an annual ‘Try Sailing’ open day. Weekly Summer junior courses are also run. Please check the website, or email us directly for more details.

Got a boat already?

For cruisers and motor boats we have a magnificent gated and serviced boat park, where boats and trailers can be stored for an nominal annual fee per meter. Craning in and out is organised co-operatively, with a crane hired in at the beginning and end of the season. Dinghy storage is available in the Clubhouse Yard. Please note that you must be a member of the club to avail of boat parking.
